Eh up Yorkshire folk, looking for a place for your festive night out? Look no further. I’ve rounded up my top picks of places where you can fill your boots with festive food and happy hour cocktails.

Banyan Bar and Kitchen:
Pornstar martini tree? Oh go on then, if you insist!

This year at Banyan, they have plenty of packages for a wonderful Christmassy experience. You can choose from a 2 or 3 course set menu for £27.99, or a buffet from £19.55 pp. Oh and if you’re a bit of a bottomless fan, they have a menu for Saturdays and Sundays in December, where you can have a festive feast with unlimited Prosecco, Coors, Aperol Spritz or Bloody Mary’s for £31.95. How much could you fit in in 90 minutes?! If you’re just heading out for drinks, take a look at their brand new cocktail menu with styles to fit your lifestyle.

Style collection, Iconic collection and Party starters
The Castle, Wakefield ( *ad, press invite* )

Me and Andy got invited down to the re-launch of The Castle pub in Wakefield recently and oh my gosh, it was absolutely amazing. They’ve just had a renovation of the whole place, including their menu’s and the whole evening was a real treat. The decor was stunning, it felt really cosy and festive with the crackling fire beside us. It’s definitely a bistro pub with a difference! The food was fabulous too, really well presented and tasted delicious.

For starters, I can definitely recommend the brie coated in breadcrumbs (left) and lamb kofta (top right). For mains, I got the panko-breaded chicken Milanese which was SO good – the chicken gravy was a real highlight! Andy got the rack of lamb and it was perfectly cooked.

Even though we were absolutely stuffed, we just couldn’t resist getting a chocolate bomb for dessert. I felt a little like we were on Masterchef when I was pouring the white chocolate over the dome to make it melt. If you’ve got any room, The Castle offer a wide range of delicious cocktails and mocktails for you to enjoy – I can recommend the pornstar martini! (can you tell these are my favourites?) –

A happy hour that brings a taste of New York to Downtown Leeds! With 2-4-1 cocktails and £20 prosecco deals available during the week and at weekends, Manahatta is perfect for a Christmas night out. If you’re able to go mid-week, it’s worth it as they do Don’t Walk, Dance every Thursday which is £20pp for 3 drinks, a small plate and a side – what a steal!

The Botanist

I absolutely love The Botanist – who doesn’t love getting their cocktail delivered to them in a plant pot? Around Christmas, they have a festive menu which looks delicious and features their famous hanging kebabs. They also have festive drinks packages which saves you money and keeps you merry all night long!

The Ivy

The Ivy in Victoria Quarter is absolutely stunning. I got invited down recently to try out some festive cocktails and it was so lovely. We sat on the terrace in the middle of the arcade, but I couldn’t resist a quick toilet photo! How can you not, when they’re so gorgeous?

Finally, Las Iguanas

Las Iguana’s will forever be a fave of mine! Why? Well, because they’re one of the only places I’ve found that do delicious happy hour cocktails (2-4-1) cocktails all day, every day (even bank holidays!). In terms of food, they’ve got festive lunch packages if you just fancy a nibble, or mains packages with numerous courses for a reasonable price.

There you have it, my top picks for your festive night out in Leeds/Yorkshire! As the name suggests, I’m a sucker for a Happy Hour, so if you have any local recommendations, pop them in the comments below.
